To acquire a library card, an individual must present two forms of identification to prove current residency:
– Photo ID
– Secondary document showing the current, local address such as a piece of mail or checkbook
Library cards are free for residents of the City of Iron River, Iron River Township, Stambaugh Township, Bates Township, Caspian and Gaastra.
Residents of Crystal Falls must first apply for a Crystal Falls Library card and then apply for a WIDL barcode sticker to be added to their card (at no cost).
If the applicant is not a resident, they may apply as a non-resident. The fee for a 3-month non-resident library card is $10.00. The fee for a year-long non-resident library card is $25.00. Non-resident cardholders may enjoy all the privileges of the library until the expiration date, at which time they may renew with payment.
Lost or damaged cards may be replaced for a $1.00 charge.
